Customised Itineraries
Blue Badge guiding services available for
tours of the Kingdom of Down and St Patricks' country or
the Causeway Coast and Glens. You need to provide
your own transport. Historical and cultural aspects
of Irish life are key elements of the tours and there are
plenty of sites of historical interest to see in the North
of Ireland. Visits to megalithic sites, Norman castles and
towers, and early christian sites are incorporated into
the Blue Badge tours.
Tours can include guided visits to attractions
and sites of interest and also provide opportunity for short
walks. Customised itineraries are provided.
Walking
and Hiking trips in the Mourne Mountains, the Giant's
Causeway Coast and Ring of Gullion are available at all
levels from challenging hikes over peaks to trails through
the mountains and countryside. Discover the relationship
between the 'Granite men' and the Mournes. Visit hidden
archaeological sites by bicycle. Arrange your own transport
and have your itinerary planned by Loretto, a Blue Badge
Guide. Check the event guide
for current information.
Your guide Loretto, a former
lecturer, a Blue Badge Guide and qualified mountain leader
with a Post Graduate Diploma in Outdoor Education, has a
width of experience leading walking groups in the mountains
of Ireland and Europe. Experiencing the outdoors in a fun
and exploratory way is fundamental to each walk.
Outdoor Ireland North is
based at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, in Newcastle,
a coastal resort in the North East of Ireland less than
one hour drive from Belfast.
If you still have energy
at the end of the day, Salsa dance
sessions, Latin American dancing, social ballroom and other
dance styles can be organized as a fun activity for groups.
